Day 29

A cloudy day! That makes news…. it’s a first in ages. I had to put the heat pump on during the day which I haven’t needed to do most of lock-down. I didn’t even venture outdoors today. I did get a high intensity interval training session done first thing but the rest of the day was very stationary!

The day was a busy one on the computer with a couple of zoom calls for both jobs. I had a zoom call with Māori students from school – was great to see them and hear how they are doing and chat with one of the mums after as well. I did a bit of emailing and organising for Green Party local branch stuff this morning then TimeBank work in the afternoon.

We’ve decided to run another quiz night… so if you missed out and think actually that might be kind of fun… then Saturday May 2nd is the night! Book it in and click here if you want more info/ to register. It’s free and anyone can enter, as an individual or with a pre-organised team.

I spent some time this avo prepping some quiz questions, creating the form you can click on above and letting people know about it. I also had a call with TimeBank coordinators around New Zealand which was lovely and rather exciting too as some people in Wellington are working on better, more user-friendly TimeBank software for NZ timebanks. We currently use TimeBanks USA software which is rather clunky and old school – not intuitive or easy for anyone really.

Then it was time for dinner – I made this delicious carrot and ginger soup.

Now we’re going to play Ticket to Ride with my parents over zoom… catch ya tomorrow!

About the Author

Born and bred in New Zealand's South Island, this Kiwi likes getting 'out there' exploring the world and its wonderful people! I have taught English in South Korea, volunteered in Kyrgyzstan, studied in Denmark, lived in community in Scotland and visited friends and wonderful people all over the world. Now married to Antony the adventures continue together. I have a habit of being notoriously behind in my blog - but will do what I can to record my adventures, as much for my own record as anything (as I have a terrible memory). After an amazing year in Iran and Europe, in 2016, Antony and I are off again September 29 2019 - Feb 1 2020. Hopefully I can blog about most of what we get up to! Enjoy the read! Kate x
