Day 27

Another seriously lovely day… incredible how many sunny days we’ve had in a row… anyone counting? It’s been weeks!

I got so into puzzle sorting mode last night it was almost midnight before I got to bed… then up at 6.30 this morning… so was very sleepy this afternoon! I was on the local radio this morning about 7.20 talking about the Meditation Panel I’m facilitating tonight… I’ll be back on the radio at 8.45 on Friday talking crafternoons and garden Q & As.

Will be interesting hosting a one hour session tonight asking our 4 panelists about their experiences and perspectives on meditation. Register here if you want to listen in, starts at 7pm.

Did an online body combat class this morning which was great then had a staff meeting over zoom. Interesting to hear how things will be when we move to level 3 next week and schools open for those children who can’t stay at home. Still a lot to be decided about how things will run but basically we will continue to run a distance learning programme and the children in the bubble we have at school (max 10) will continue doing that work too. They won’t get anything extra from us so that makes it manageable and fair. We have a Teacher only day on Tuesday and will no doubt get email updates over next few days with details.

I did some more of the puzzle while on my zoom call and over lunch… it is so addictive! Then I went for a bike ride to see Mari’s cool fence all ready for Anzac Day… and to the Domain to enjoy the autumn colours. It was just beautiful in there (see above picture).

I have been incredibly inactive during lockdown compared to my usual life. I have gone for no walks and been on my bike as many times in a month as I normally would in one day. I am really enjoying being at home and had to really make myself go out today! I’m so used to biking for transport that just going for a ride (without a destination) feels a bit weird!

I’m working out daily but that is what I usually would do (5 or 6 days a week at the gym) so not much difference there. Add to the lack of cycling all the baking, frequent grazing, dessert making and the desire to eat yummy meals and I am expanding rapidly round the middle!

Oh well. Not going to worry about it too much! I have been living in baggy pants – hope I can find something suitable for work that also has a stretchy waistband for when I head back to work on Tuesday!

Hope you are all enjoying these beautiful autumn days… it’s my favourite season.

About the Author

Born and bred in New Zealand's South Island, this Kiwi likes getting 'out there' exploring the world and its wonderful people! I have taught English in South Korea, volunteered in Kyrgyzstan, studied in Denmark, lived in community in Scotland and visited friends and wonderful people all over the world. Now married to Antony the adventures continue together. I have a habit of being notoriously behind in my blog - but will do what I can to record my adventures, as much for my own record as anything (as I have a terrible memory). After an amazing year in Iran and Europe, in 2016, Antony and I are off again September 29 2019 - Feb 1 2020. Hopefully I can blog about most of what we get up to! Enjoy the read! Kate x
