Kia ora & welcome to this blog!

I hope you enjoy reading about the adventures and thoughts of this kiwi-out-there! I had high hopes of setting up a great looking website before Antony and I left home (December 2015) on our big adventure but it did not eventuate. So six months into our trip, I began this blog. The result is that I blogged lots about Iran and a few other places but basically never caught up so am missing posts for a good half of our trip. Now it’s already a couple of years later so as much as I’d like to finish off the writing for that trip, I can see it’s not going to happen. We’re off on a new adventure so I will try and keep up a bit better this time!

As Antony is learning, I have a terrible memory. I know I have been to places before (museums, cities, islands etc.) but can’t remember much at all about them. So when I go a second time it may as well be the first! I don’t want to forget all the places we visit and people we meet so the blog is mostly like a diary for me. I do hope that others will find it useful of course.

There are a few sections- posts about places we go to and things we see you’ll find under ‘Exploring’, ‘Travel Tips’ covers costs and other tips, experiences voluteering, house sitting, couchsurfing or staying with friends will be under ‘Living with the Locals’. From time to time I come across nice quotes, I may interview interesting people or write about things that don’t fit these categories… – find these under ‘Quotes’, ‘People’  and ‘Life’ sections.

Enjoy dear family and friends. Feedback & Questions welcome.
